Burritt on the Mountain and Huntsville Public Library are teaming up to bring you the grand opening for the Big Read, March 27th from 11:00-3:00. The classic book featured for this event is Tom Sawyer.
This free event will feature learning stations at Burritt on the Mountain in the Historic Park. You will have the opportunity to participate in the church scene as poor dead Tom returns home. We will learn more about those critters and stuff they were always trading. Learn how to play marbles or just trade them. Plan to help us do some whitewashing, work or play? Learn about caves where they were hiding out too! We will even taste some delectable foods, such as ham, corn bread and sweet meats.
This educational event promises to be fun for all. The National Endowment for the Arts has made this day possible. Be a part of literary history and join us at Burritt on the Mountain.
