40 Years of Great Art is an exhibition that celebrates the Huntsville Museum of Art’s 40th-anniversary year with highlights from the permanent collection acquired over the past four decades. Since its inception in 1970, the Museum’s collection has grown to nearly 3,000 works, providing a rich resource that we hold in trust for present and future generations. The exhibition is presented in four galleries; each gallery represents a specific decade of collecting and features key works acquired by gift and purchase during that period.
